About Us

The Investment, Debt and Risk Management department is responsible for the university’s treasury, endowment management and risk management activities.  To learn more about services and activities in each of these areas, please see the attached unit descriptions. Some of the department’s major accomplishments/responsibilities are:

  • Stewardship of cash pool assets of approximately $350 million, which each year, generates approximately $9 million in investment income to support University operations.

  • In partnership with the University Foundation, stewardship of endowment assets of approximately $300 million, which each year, generates approximately $12 million of income to support University operations.

  • Issuance of approximately $400 million in debt since 2000 to fund University facilities construction and renovation.

  • Manage the cash flow of the University which aggregates over $1.9 billion annually while providing daily liquidity for cash requirements while achieving maximum interest income within policy guidelines.

  • Administration of University liability and property insurance programs, the latter of which protects the University’s approximately $1.5 billion in assets.
